I am glad to contribute to your page with my practical experiences with the reception of the Astra 2D satellite in my town, Trnava. Western Slovakia is known for poor reception of this satellite, so let me finally make clear what the reception conditions are like.
    The reception in my area is possible for all vertical transpoders from 10729 to 10936 with a 180 cm dish.The strongest transponder 10906V showed traces of signal in the evening hours using a 140 cm Kovosat dish (28-30 %) and a 160 cm dish (36 %). Enclosed in the photo attachement you will find the results I obtained using a 180 cm dish. I used a combination of this dish and a 0.1 dB Megasat Diavolo LNB. The Golden Interstar LNB I used before allowed me to reach only 47 % on the 10906V transponder.From 8 am to 2 pm it is possible to watch the 10847 and 10906V transpoders, from 6 pm to 11 pm I can watch all vertical transponders, of course, when the weather permits this. I obtained these results using the Skystar2 PC card but the Skystar HD 2 card will give you better results.
    It is possible to start detecting horizontal transponders using a 240 cm dish I have tested in Nitra.
