I've come across another satellite PC card. Being a collector, I've got it as a present. The first thing about this old junker that captured my attention was the range of SR - and things didn't turn out that bad!
What i've got is a Twinhan VisionPlus 1030 CI. The chip is an old Connexant 878a model that used to be a part of TV cards 6 to 8 years ago so its functionality under Windows Vista wasn't guaranteed. But thanks to the BDA drivers everything works well. My only gripe is that the quality/signal level indicator is not accurate, as is the case with Skystary HD2, i.e. BDA drivers.
                                                                  

The tuner is an LG, the demodulator is probably a Philips mounted on the bottom side. Its practical functionality looks like this: SRs under 2100 don't work at all, SRs 44950 (53e, 80e) work instantly without the picture being distorted in any way. The sensitivity of the tuner ranges from that of ss2 rev 2.3 to that of ssHD2. I'm glad I've finally tried out a Twinhan as this company has never had a Slovak/Czech dealer. Owners of satellite PC cards skystar, don't have to lament the years of Twinhan unavailability because they didn't miss out on anything special.
