1. Čo je TMT?
TMT (skratka pre Transporte, Multiplicação e Transmissão, S.A.) je mozambická štátna spoločnosť zodpovedná za distribúciu a prenos digitálneho televízneho signálu v krajine.
TMT je joint venture medzi verejnými spoločnosťami:
• TVM – Televisão de Moçambique
• RM – Rádio Moçambique
• TDM – Telecomunicações de Moçambique
Mozambik prijal európsky štandard DVB-T2 pre digitálnu terestriálnu televíziu (DTT) v novembri 2010. TMT získala licenciu na šifrovanie, multiplexovanie, prenos a vysielanie digitálneho terestriálneho televízneho signálu krajiny od Národného inštitútu pre komunikácie.
2. Satelitná distribúcia cez Eutelsat 3B
Technológia T2-MI je špecifický spôsob prenosu, pri ktorom je celý multiplex DVB-T2 (určený pre pozemné vysielanie) zabalený do satelitného nosného signálu DVB-S2. Toto riešenie je typické pre prevádzkovateľov DTT sietí, ktorí používajú satelit na distribúciu signálu k pozemným prevádzačom po celom území krajiny – čo je presne prípad TMT v Mozambiku.
Signál z uplink stanice v Mapute je vysielaný cez Eutelsat 3B a prijímaný lokálnymi prevádzačmi v jednotlivých mestách a regiónoch. Satelit Eutelsat 3B využívajú preportugalskojazyčnú Afriku najmä StarTimes a TMT.
3. Platforma, dekodéry a obsah
Podľa Victora Mbebeho, prezidenta TMT, aspoň milión divákov už využíva digitálny televízny signál v Mozambiku. Niektorí platia za signál prostredníctvom rôznych distribučných spoločností, zatiaľ čo iní využívajú otvorenú platformu TMT, cez ktorú sú mozambické televízne kanály dostupné bezplatne.
Cena dekodéra: 1 200 MZN (cca 17 USD) — bez ďalších mesačných poplatkov pre

Podľa Mbebeho: „Rozdiel medzi TMT a ostatnými prevádzkovateľmi je v tom, že naša je otvorená signálová platforma, ktorá umožňuje divákom prístup ku všetkým mozambickým kanálom bezplatne. V súčasnosti je na platforme TMT dostupných 18 mozambických kanálov.“ TMT je verejný prevádzkovateľ zodpovedný za prenos signálu. Pre bežné televízory bez vstavaného digitálneho tunera sú dekodéry nevyhnutné na príjem signálu.
4. Pokrytie a infraštruktúra
Centrum pozostáva z prenosovej siete so 60 vysielačmi, rehabilitácie a vybavenia štúdií TVM, výrobného centra TVM a sídla TMT. Pred digitalizáciou sieť pokrývala iba 50 % mozambickej populácie. Vďaka novej sieti s výkonnejšími vysielačmi sa pokrytie zvýšilo na 70 % populácie.

TMT (abbreviation for Transporte, Multiplicacao e Transmissao, S.A.) is a Mozambican state-owned company responsible for the distribution and transmission of digital television signals throughout the country.
TMT is a joint venture between the following public companies:
• TVM – Televisao de Mocambique
• RM – Radio Mocambique
• TDM – Telecomunicacoes de Mocambique
Mozambique adopted the European standard DVB-T2 for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in November 2010. TMT received a licence for encryption, multiplexing, transmission and broadcasting of the country's digital terrestrial television signal from the National Institute of Communications.
2. Satellite Distribution via Eutelsat 3B
The T2-MI technology is a specific transmission method in which the entire DVB-T2multiplex (intended for terrestrialbroadcasting) is encapsulated within a DVB-S2 satellite carrier signal. Das Signal von der Uplink-Station in Maputo wird ueber Eutelsat 3B ausgestrahlt und von lokalen Sendern in den einzelnen Staedten und Regionen empfangen. Das Zentrum besteht aus einem Uebertragungsnetz mit 60 Sendern, der Sanierung und Ausstattung der TVM-Studios, dem TVM-Produktionszentrum und dem TMT-Hauptsitz. Vor der Digitalisierung deckte das Netz nur 50 % der mosambikanischen Bevoelkerung ab. Dank des neuen Netzes mit leistungsfaehigeren Sendern stieg die Abdeckung auf 70 % der Bevoelkerung.
